This is a Dutch East Indies 1847 Pre Stamp Military Officer Cover. It was sent from Batavia to Crowlino. There are several things to note with this letter. Starting with the front, we have a BATAVIA HALF-ROUND on the front. It is countersigned at the lower left, with the overlay of MALTE LAZARET and disinfected slit.

It has a transit CDS in red on the front as well, and an ALEXANDRIA EGYPT TRANSIT in BLACK on the back, dated 6/11, and a CROWLINO RECEIVER in RED dated 6/22 on the back. Take care because this item, though in very good shape, is still extremely old!
